The Science behind Fractional CO2
Fractional CO2 laser delivers 10,600nm laser in fractional manner into the skin, while leaving the untreated areas intact. Laser creates microscopic thermal dots that penetrate deep into the skin tissues, causing controlled damage to the cells to activate the body’s natural healing process.
The underlying technology consists of laser using carbon dioxide gas. When short bursts of light energy are focused on the affected area, the water in the tissues of the epidermis absorbs the energy and heats up until it reaches a boiling point. This causes a thin layer of the epidermis to vaporize, exposing fresh skin. The tiny beams also heat up the dermis, encouraging fresh new cells to be produced, firming the skin, and revitalizing the complexion from deep within.
